Jakob Lotta’s (b. (Czecho)Slovakia) art-practice is defined by an exploration of age ambiguity and the latent potential of obsolete media. Lotta works and lives in The Netherlands.

Trained in Textile and Fine Arts at the School of Applied Arts of Josef Vydra in Bratislava and BA in Interdisciplinary Arts from The Maastricht Institute of Arts. His work is conceptually anchored in the intergenerational tensions stemming from his close relationships with mature feminine figures. He constructs palatable multimedia studies that challenge society’s ageist attitudes by bridging the spiritual with the pragmatic, the political with the emotional and the ornamental with the academic.
